” Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time” -Thomas Merton
I was born and raised in New York, and discovered Quilling at age 10 by purchasing a Quilling kit from a craft magazine…..needless to say, I fell in love! I completed my first commission piece at age 18…..and all through life’s ups and downs, marriages, raising children and working full time, I’ve made it my mission to create designs, demonstrate and teach as much as possible so that the legacy of this unique, centuries-old art will continue.
Quilling appeals to people of all ages and is amazingly versatile. It can be used to create greeting cards, family heirlooms (for weddings and babies), jewelry, candleholders, miniature figurines, or to decorate borders around cherished photographs, just to name a few.
In 2004, my work was featured in Legacy Magazine, demonstrating how Quilling can be used to enhance cherished antique photographs. In November, 2011, I was featured on the local TV station demonstrating the basic techniques. Now retired and living in Florida, I teach classes in Florida and North Carolina, and am an accredited member of the North American Quilling Guild. Information on the Guild can be accessed here.
